Description There are more possibilities to email issues. Principally you have to tell apart implicit, i.e. automatically sent emails, from explicit sending. This view is about explicit sending. The implicit, automated sending is bound to status changes and can be set up by Managers and Project Administrators in the view Status change details index card Auto mail.
Each sent email contains an "issue link".
Explicit Explicit means that the user him/herself decides about the content of the mail and when and to whom the email is sent.
Select issues Select the issues you want to email in List view and click the button Mail selected issues. The view Send email message opens.
Email edited issues To send an issue from the view Edit issue, check the checkbox "send email when saved" in the lower part of the view Edit issue. After saving, the view Send email message opens.
Edit following settings in the index cards:
This index card lets you determine who will receive the email.
Index card column selection / email template In the index card "column selection" the columns used to built the content of the email body can be selected or alternatively a email template can be chosen to determine the format of the email body.

Send email Click the button Send mail to send the mail. All sent information is displayed afterwards.
Issue link Each email contains a so-called issue link. The issue link consists of the URL to the project and a further encoded information. By clicking this issue link, the receiver can directly open the issue in Edit view provided that he/she is authorized to do so.
